Chapter 1: Withered Wastelands Town
Withered Wastelands teaches the basic town-rebuilding loop. You learn Water Gun, befriend Bulbasaur and Charmander, complete the first major challenges, and raise Hydration to 75. The chapter ends with the Kyogre encounter and prepares you to enter later areas.
Do not give away rare materials while learning the request system. Build a simple storage area near your workbench and collect extra wood, stone, and food before moving on.
Chapter 2: Rocky Ridges Town
Rocky Ridges introduces heavier terrain work, cooking buffs, and Strength. Follow Tangrowth, rescue Chef Greedent, and use food to improve the moves needed for the area's obstacles. Raising the town's Mood to 100 advances the story toward Volcanion.
This is a good chapter for stocking Beans and Wheat. Bean dishes improve Rock Smash for ore collection, while bread dishes improve Cut for exploration.
Chapter 3: Bleak Beach Town
Bleak Beach expands the water and weather systems. The main objectives include learning Magnet Rise, rescuing Vaporeon, dealing with sandstorms, encountering Spiritomb, and progressing to Suicune.
Piplup's request chain in this area also leads to Paldean Wooper and Water Absorb. If you need to move water sources, create waterfalls, or prepare liquid-based habitats, use the Water Absorb guide.
Chapter 4: Sparkling Skylands Town
Sparkling Skylands focuses on electricity and vertical exploration. You learn Fly, restore the power plant, work with Luxray, complete the observation deck event, and eventually encounter Rayquaza.
Bring a supply of Concrete and other processed materials before starting major restoration projects. The Paper, Concrete, and Control Unit guide covers the shortest preparation route.
Chapter 5: Team Initiation Challenge
The Team Initiation Challenge brings the earlier systems together. You must clear four area challenges, prepare the requested construction materials, infiltrate Team Rocket HQ, and progress to the Mewtwo encounter.
Keep several movement and terrain moves ready instead of specializing in only one. The challenges test exploration, construction, gathering, and combat-support preparation from the previous towns.
What to Do Before Entering the Next Town
Raise Your Trainer Rank
Area gates check story progress and Trainer Rank. If a gate remains closed, finish unresolved town requests, build requested facilities, and raise the current area's Environment Level before assuming the route is wrong.
Stock Core Materials
Carry Lumber, Brick, Iron Bars, Concrete, and basic food ingredients. The Materials Guide explains where to farm each raw material and which Pokemon specialty processes it.
Keep Useful Food Buffs
Cooking can strengthen exploration moves. Keep dishes for Rock Smash, Cut, Surf, and other frequently used abilities instead of waiting until an obstacle blocks progress. See all cooking recipes for ingredients and effects.
Unlock Movement Moves When They Appear
Story requests teach moves that become important in later chapters. Complete nearby Pokemon requests before leaving a town, especially those tied to water, climbing, flight, and electricity.
After the Main Story
Finishing the Team Initiation Challenge does not complete every request or unlock every optional area. Continue with the Postgame Guide for remaining systems, rare encounters, and cleanup goals.
The paid Bubbly Basin story is separate from the five main chapters. For its entry requirements, Dive route, and Expansion Pass details, use the Pokopia DLC FAQ and Bubbly Basin guide.
