Rocky Ridges Town Walkthrough
Head Through the Northwest Gate
Head toward the Area Gate located to the northwest of the town in Withered Wastelands (the same direction where Onix was trapped). Once your Trainer Rank reaches Super, you can pass through by holding your Pokedex up to the entrance.
Follow Tangrowth
Once you pass through the gate, Tangrowth will guide you, so let's follow it.
Go Straight and Examine the Computer for a Dialogue Event
Go straight from the spot where Tangrowth stopped and examine the broken computer. The story will not progress until Tangrowth reaches the computer, so it is fine to walk slowly.
Talk to Tangrowth when a speech bubble appears
Wait a bit after checking the computer, and talk to Tangrowth when the speech bubble "To move heavy things..." appears. Since you'll have some time, it's fine to clear the surrounding area or move ahead with the next part of the guide.
Creating a 2x2 Habitat: "Red Grassland"
Let's create a 2x2 habitat, "Red Grassland". You can create it by using "Water Gun" on nearby withered grassland or by growing grass with Leafage.
Become Friends with Scorbunny and Accept a Request
To find out where Machoke is, let's become friends with "Scorbunny." They will give you hints about Machoke's habitat during the conversation.
Create a Machoke Habitat Near the Crafting Table
Use the "Sandbags" near the crafting table to create the Machoke habitat, "Grassy Training Ground."
Befriend Machoke and Receive a Request
You can become friends with Machoke after investigating the tremors at the Training Ground. After the conversation, follow Machoke; once you reach the destination, you can receive a request.
Pick up 5 Stones near Machoke
Once the request begins, first pick up 5 "Stones" lying around the area.
Move the Rock to Machoke's Location with Strength
Once you finish collecting Stones, Ditto will learn the new move "Strength". Since you will now be able to move rocks, carry one to where Machoke is located. It is fine as long as the rock is in Machoke's vicinity.
Return the PC to its original spot using Strength
Return to where the broken PC is and use Strength to move it to the switch's location. The PC needs to be placed facing away from the Pokémon Center, so change its orientation while using Strength. Once placed correctly, the PC will be restored and ready for use.
An Important Request occurs
After restoring the PC, the Important Request "Fix the Pokémon Center!" will occur. Since completing it doesn't affect the main story, you can proceed with it whenever you like.
Talk to Tangrowth and Follow Him
Once the PC is restored, talk to Tangrowth. After the conversation, Tangrowth will start running, so follow him.
Stand on the wooden crate and use Cut on the chain
Once you reach your destination, use "Cut" on the chain that the barrel is hanging from. Since you cannot reach it from the ground, climb onto the wooden crate to adjust your height.
Creating the "Rocks and Grass in the Shade of the Triangular Tree" Habitat
After the conversation in the kitchen, create the "Rocks and Grass in the Shade of the Triangular Tree" habitat to make friends with Dartrix. Grow four red grasses around the tree in the southwest of the map and carry the rock near the tree to complete it.
Befriend Dartrix and Accept the Request
Once you have befriended Dartrix, talk to it again to accept its request. In exchange for making a cutting board, it will ask you to make a perch.
Pick up the Perch Recipe
Pick up the Perch recipe near the stairs on the way to "Rocks and grass in the shade of a triangular tree".
Craft a Perch and Place it Near the Habitat
Once you have obtained the Perch recipe, collect the materials and craft it. Place the crafted perch near Dartrix's habitat, "Rocks and Grass in the Triangular Tree Shade."
Report to Dartrix to Complete the Request
By reporting to Dartrix, the request will be completed and you will obtain the recipe for the "Cutting Board."
Crafting a Cutting Board
Use the recipe you've learned to craft a Cutting Board. Lumber can be processed by giving "Small Logs," which are obtained when breaking trees or obstacles, to a Pokémon that can use Cut. Please note that processing requires a certain amount of time to pass.
Place a Cutting Board and Make a Salad
By placing a cutting board in any location, you will be able to cook. First, let's make the salad required for the request.
Eat Salad to Strengthen Leafage
Eating a Plain Salad you've made will fully restore your PP and strengthen "Leafage." With the strengthened Leafage, you can grow grass in a 5-tile cross pattern by holding down ZR, and under certain conditions, you will be able to grow aquatic plants and moss.
Head to Tangrowth's location for a dialogue event
Head to the location where Tangrowth is, and a dialogue event will begin.
Head to the cave on the west side of the map
Head to the cave blocked by rocks on the west side of the map. You can proceed by using Rock Smash.
Create the "Mossy Hot Spring" Habitat at the Cave's Waterside
Proceed a little further into the cave and create the "Mossy Hot Spring" habitat at the water's edge. The moss required for its creation can be grown by using an enhanced Leafage move inside the cave.
Become friends with Torkoal and accept their request
After becoming friends with Torkoal, talk to them again to accept their request.
Preparing the Path from Mossy Hot Spring to the Poke Center
To complete Torkoal's request, let's prepare the path to the Poke Center. It's important to make it easier to walk by installing stairs where there are ledges, breaking walls, and growing moss on the ground.
It's More Efficient to Let Torkoal Walk First
When carrying out Torkoal's request, it's efficient to go ahead and prepare the path while Torkoal is walking. Since Torkoal walks slowly and will stop when it encounters an obstacle—allowing you to restart from that same spot each time—you can get by with minimal path preparation while keeping an eye on Torkoal.
Deliver Torkoal to the Pokemon Center to Clear
Talk to Torkoal once it has reached the Pokemon Center to clear the request and learn the Bread Oven recipe.
Crafting a Bread Oven
Volcanic ash, the material for the bread oven, can be obtained from gray blocks found in the field. Once you have crafted the bread oven, place it wherever you like.
Break the rocks above the field to restore the river's flow
Go up to the source of the river in the field in the southwest of the map and break the multiple rocks blocking the water. It's complete once the bottom-most sprinkler activates.
Harvesting Wheat
Once the sprinkler has been running for a while, let's harvest the wheat planted nearby. You can harvest 3 units per tile, which will allow you to make bread.
Bring Scorbunny to the Bread Oven and Bake Bread
Bring Scorbunny to the bread oven and bake bread together.
Eat Bread to Strengthen Cut
Once the bread is ready, take it out from your inventory and eat it. Cut will be strengthened, allowing you to break things like wire mesh and chains by holding ZR.
Use Cut on the Chain Again to Rescue Chef Greedent
When you cut the chain with the upgraded "Cut," a Greedent dressed as a chef will appear from inside the barrel. Greedent will be registered in your Pokédex during the conversation event.
Talk to Chef Baris in front of the Pokemon Center
After rescuing Chef Baris, talk to him in front of the Pokemon Center.
Talk to Chef Barisu in the Kitchen to Receive a Request
After the conversation at the Poke Center, head to the kitchen to receive a request from Chef Barisu. Since you have to wait for Chef Barisu to move, there is no need to rush.
Talk to Tangrowth
Return to the Pokémon Center and talk to Tangrowth. After the conversation, you will obtain the "Frying Pan" recipe.
Talk to Machoke and Follow Him
Talk to the Machoke standing near the tracks. After the conversation, he will start heading further in, so follow him.
Break the wire fence with powered-up Cut
Machoke will guide you to the wire fence, so break it with a powered-up Cut. If your powered-up PP has run out, eat some bread again to power up Cut.
Create the "Dig and Burn" Habitat
Go past the wire fence and use the items near the blast furnace to create the "Dig and Burn" habitat. It will be completed by combining the Blast Furnace, Wheelbarrow, and Mining Tools.
Become friends with Magmar and accept their request
Become friends with Magmar and talk to them again to accept their request.
Put Copper into the Smelter
Put Copper into the "Smelter" and craft 2 "Copper Ingots." After putting in the Copper, Copper Ingots will be produced if you are accompanied by a Pokémon skilled at "Kindling," such as Scorbunny or Magmar.
Obtain Copper from nearby brown walls
Copper can be obtained from the brown walls in the passage leading to the Smelter. Use Rock Smash to break the blocks where brown ore is embedded.
Craft a Frying Pan and Report to Chef Baris
Take the finished Copper Ingots out of the furnace and craft a Frying Pan.
Harvest 4 Beans
Harvest 4 beans at the field in the southwest of the map. If the river is open, you can travel to the field and harvest them immediately.
Making a Plain Hamburg
Once you have a Frying Pan and 4 Beans, go to where Chef Baris is located. You can cook by placing the Frying Pan on the stove, so add the 4 Beans to make a Plain Hamburg.
Eat a Hamburger to Strengthen Rock Smash
Once you have made a Plain Hamburger, take it out from your inventory and eat it. The move "Rock Smash" will be strengthened, allowing you to break harder ores and other objects.
Listen to Machoke's Request
Speak to the Machoke located near the Pokémon Center. He will ask you to find Graveler.
Create a "Mossy Rock" in the Cave
Head to the cave with the hot spring where Torkoal was, and let's create the habitat "Mossy Rock".
Become Friends with Graveler and Learn "Rollout"
After talking to Graveler and becoming friends, talk to it again to receive a request. You will learn the new move "Rollout," allowing you to move around the field while rolling.
Create the "Mossy Rock" Habitat in the Cave
Use "Rollout" and speak to Machoke while in the form of Graveler.
Report to Graveler
Return to the cave and report to Graveler to complete the request.
Accept Dartrix's Request
Talk to Dartrix to accept a request from them.
Make Shredded Salad with Dartrix
Have Dartrix accompany you and make Shredded Salad together. If Dartrix is not with you, it will become a Plain Salad, so make sure to cook while Dartrix is accompanying you. Talk to Dartrix after cooking to complete the request.
Reach Environment Level 3
The next objective, "Let's Throw a Party!", cannot be started unless your Environment Level is at least 3. You can efficiently raise your Environment Level by picking up sparkles on the island to create new habitats and increasing the number of undiscovered Pokemon.
- How to Raise Environment Level and Unlocks
- Habitat Pokedex List
Talk to Scorbunny
Once your Environment Level reaches 3, Scorbunny will appear on the east side of the map, so go and talk to it.
Talk to Agerotom past the volcanic ash
Proceed forward while breaking the volcanic ash in front of Scorbunny using "Rollout." Go over the first ledge and talk to Agerotom on your left.
Go outside and report to Scorbunny
Go outside and report the source of the sound to Scorbunny.
Talk to Rotom-A in the plaza past the stairs
Wait a short while and Rotom-A will emerge from the cave and head toward the plaza. Once it arrives at the plaza and a speech bubble appears, talk to it to trigger the Important Request "Let's Have a Party!".
Talk to Chef Ballis and Place the Pot
Talk to Chef Ballis in the plaza to receive a Party Pot. Place it in an open spot in front of Chef Ballis, then talk to him again.
Accept Agerotom's Request
Talk to Agerotom in the plaza to accept their request.
Give the CD to Agerotom to Clear
Once you find a CD, talk to Agerotom and select "About the CD..." to give it to him. Giving one CD will clear the request.
CD located in the bookshelf near Agerotom
There is a "Mt. Moon" CD in the bookshelf on the right side of the stage in the plaza where Agerotom is located. If you don't have any CDs, obtain one here and give it to him.
Bring Pokémon that are good at "Cheer Up"
Befriend Pokémon that are good at "Cheer Up" and bring them to the plaza. Agerotom recommends Ludicolo, but any Pokémon that is good at "Cheer Up" will work, including those from other areas.
Kricketot and Diglett are recommended as they are easy to find
When gathering "Cheer Up" Pokémon, Kricketot and Diglett are recommended because they are easy to find. It is more efficient to simply create habitats for high-rarity Pokémon like Ludicolo and Cinderace while you aim to recruit them.
Accept Tangrowth's Request
Talk to Tangrowth in the Plaza and accept its request. You will be asked to bring a "Large Lost Item."
Hand over the Large Lost Item to clear
Hand over the Large Lost Item in your possession to Tangrowth to clear the request. After clearing it, you can have Large Lost Items appraised by talking to Tangrowth.
Large Lost Items are inside glowing volcanic ash
You can obtain a Large Lost Item by breaking the glowing volcanic ash on the plaza stage. It is also recommended to break any other glowing blocks you find in the field.
Displaying the Appraised Big Lost Item
Let's display the Big Lost Item you had appraised in the Plaza. There is no specific location required as long as it is within the Plaza. After placing it, report to Professor Tangrowth to complete the request.
Accept Chef Baris's Request
Talk to Chef Baris to accept his request. After the conversation, you will obtain the recipe for the Party Plate.
Craft 5 Party Plates
Craft 5 Party Plates as requested by Chef Ballis. You will need a total of 5 "Iron Ingots," so smelt Iron in the "Blast Furnace" to make "Iron Ingots."
Iron is in the cave where Agerotom was
Iron can be mined from the walls of the cave where Agerotom was. Look for ore embedded in gray blocks, and use Rock Smash to break those sections.
Cook 5 dishes of your choice
Let's cook 5 dishes to put on the party plate. There are no specific requirements for the dishes, so Salad is recommended as it requires fewer materials.
Grow grass with Leafage and use Cut to harvest
"Leaves," the material for Salad, can be efficiently collected by growing grass with Leafage and then using Cut. You can keep obtaining them until your PP runs out, so repeat this until you have collected 10 Leaves.
Place Party Plates Around the Pot
Place 5 Party Plates around the pot in the plaza where Rotom is located. There is no specific arrangement required; once you have placed the plates, don't forget to put the dishes you prepared into each one.
Report to Chef Baris to Complete the Request
Once you have placed the Party Plate, report to Chef Baris to complete the request.
Raise Mood to 100 Points
Once you have cleared all the requests, let's raise the Mood to 100 points. Mood can be increased efficiently by bringing along many Pokémon that are good at "Boosting." If you get stuck while raising the Mood, it is also recommended to purchase decorations from the Shop and place them in large quantities.
Talk to Rotom-Hype to check the Mood
By talking to Rotom-Hype and selecting "What's the current Mood?", you can check your current Mood score. It serves as a benchmark for raising the Mood, so be sure to check it whenever you need to.
Speak to Chef Greedent
After raising the Mood to 100 points, speak to Chef Greedent. You will be asked to collect ingredients for the curry.
Collect the Ingredients Needed for Curry
Collect four types of ingredients needed for curry. Wheat and beans can be harvested from the fields on Mt. Rugged, and Honey can be gathered from sparkling spots on flowers or obtained through Combee's specialty.
Making Curry with 5 Pokemon
Make curry with five Pokemon, including Chef Baris. If there aren't four in the plaza, you will need to bring them from their habitats.
Talk to Volcanion at the Volcano
After making curry, an event will begin and Volcanion will appear at the summit of the volcano. Climb the outer wall of the volcano to reach the summit and talk to Volcanion.
Complete the Important Request after talking to Tangrowth
After descending the mountain and talking to Tangrowth, the Important Request will be completed. As a clear reward, you will obtain recipes for the "Launching Tube" and "Firework Ball."
To the next town
Once you have cleared "Rocky Ridges Town," head to "Bleak Beach Town." If you have cleared both "Rocky Ridges Town" and "Bleak Beach Town," your next destination will be "Sparkling Skylands Town."
