Recruitment Challenge Walkthrough Chart

Summary of Materials Required for Joining Challenges

Here is a list of all materials needed to complete the Pokoa Pokemon Joining Challenges. If you want to play through the story to the very end in one go, make sure to collect these materials beforehand.

Part 1 Strategy

To clear Part 1 of the Join Challenge, you need 5 Leppa Berries. Since they can be obtained in any town, collect them by using Headbutt on trees in the nearest town.

Examine the Front of the Coastal Tower

Once you are able to go to the southeast coast in Withered Wastelands, head toward the tower made of sand. When you examine the front of the tower, the Recruitment Challenge will begin.

Collect 5 Leppa Berries

Leppa Berries can be obtained in any town, so use Headbutt on trees in the nearest town to collect 5 Leppa Berries. If you can't find a tree with fruit, use Water Gun on a withered tree, and Leppa Berries will grow immediately.

Deliver Leppa Berries to the Box to Clear

Once you have collected 5 Leppa Berries, examine the front of the Coastal Tower again to deliver them. You will receive a Gray Badge as a reward, and the second part of the Recruitment Challenge will begin.

Part 2 Walkthrough

In the second Recruitment Challenge, you will be required to provide 10 Beans, 10 Tomatoes, and 10 Wheat. Fields for Beans and Wheat are available at Rocky Ridges, and fields for Tomatoes are at Gloomy Beach, so head to the respective locations to harvest them.

Obtain Beans and Wheat from the Fields in Rocky Ridges

"Beans" and "Wheat" can be obtained from the fields on the ledge in the southwest of Rocky Ridges. Since these fields are used in the story, if you cannot access them yet, it is recommended to progress through the story first.

Obtain Immediately by Changing the System Time

The date and time in Pokopia are synced with the Switch 2 system settings. If you cannot wait for the crops to grow, you can harvest them immediately by changing the time on your Switch 2.

Obtain Tomatoes at the Bleak Beach Field

"Tomatoes" can be harvested from the field on the north side of Bleak Beach Town. If the tomatoes are not ready to be harvested, wait for them to grow or change the time to harvest them.

Deliver 3 Crops to the Box to Clear

Deliver the 3 crops you grew to the Coastal Tower again to clear the quest. You will receive a Blue Badge as a reward.

Part 3 Strategy

In the 3rd Joining Challenge, 20 Lumber, 5 Cotton, and 10 Paper are required. Many of these items can be obtained through processing, and the challenge can be cleared if you have reached Kirakira Ushikima Town.

Process Small Logs to Obtain Lumber

Lumber can be obtained by giving "Small Logs," which are acquired by using "Cut" on trees, to a Pokémon that can cut wood. For your wood-cutting needs, Scyther is recommended as it can be befriended early in the game.

Obtain Immediately by Changing System Time

The date and time in Pokopia are synced with the Switch 2 system settings. If you don't want to wait for processing to finish, you can obtain items immediately by changing the time on your Switch 2.

Process Paper Trash to Obtain Paper

To get Paper, you must give "Paper Trash" to a Recycling Pokemon to have it processed. We recommend Trubbish, who you can befriend during the story in Bleak Beach, as your Recycling Pokemon.

Paper Trash can be collected at Sparkle Floating Island

Paper Trash can be obtained from the colorful blocks found in the town of Sparkle Floating Island. Collecting a total of 5 pieces of Paper Trash will provide enough for the Joining Challenge delivery.

Obtain Wool at Mareep/Flaaffy's Habitat

The Wool required for delivery can be picked up at Mareep or Flaaffy's habitat. Since you build Mareep's habitat during the Gloomy Beach story, try checking it if some time has passed. If you don't know the location of the habitat, you can ask "How's the habitat?" and they will guide you.

Clear by delivering 3 items to the box

Deliver the "Lumber" and "Paper" processed by the Cut/Recycle Pokemon, along with the "Cotton" obtained from the Mareep habitat to clear the stage. You will receive an Orange Badge as a reward.

Part 4 Strategy

In Join Challenge Part 4, 40 Bricks, 20 Gold Ingots, and 50 Concrete are required. It can be cleared after obtaining the Concrete Mixer in the Sparkle Floating Island story.

Process Squishy Clay to Obtain Bricks

Bricks can be processed by giving Squishy Clay to a Pokemon that can burn. For your burning team, Torchic and Growlithe are recommended as they can process the clay while you are collecting it at Gloomy Beach.

Obtain Large Amounts of Squishy Clay at Dream Island

You can obtain large amounts of Squishy Clay at "Ocean Dream Island," which can be accessed via the Pikachu Doll. Collect 20 pieces of clay before returning to make 40 Bricks.

Collect Gold and Smelt It in the Blast Furnace

Gold Bars can be made by smelting the gold you've obtained in a Blast Furnace. Note that using the Blast Furnace requires a Pokémon skilled at "Burn."

Gold Can Be Gathered in the Rocky Ridges Cave or Dream Island

The gold needed for Gold Bars can be collected inside the cave in Rocky Ridges Town or on Dream Island. Since it can only be broken with an upgraded Rock Smash, make sure to eat a Hamburger before gathering.

Put Limestone into the Concrete Mixer

Concrete can be obtained by putting Limestone into a Concrete Mixer. To operate the Concrete Mixer, you must place it near water and bring a Pokémon that can use "Crush," such as Conkeldurr.

Limestone can be gathered on the island where you found Tinkaton

Limestone, the material for Concrete, can be found on the island where you first met Tinkaton in the town of Sparkling Skylands. It can be obtained by breaking white blocks with striped patterns.

Deliver 3 items to the box to clear

Deliver the required amount of Bricks, Gold Ingots, and Concrete to clear the objective. You will receive a Rainbow Badge as a reward.

Part 5 Strategy

In Recruitment Challenge Part 5, you will need 50 Lots of Electricity, 10 Crystal Shards, and 5 Deka Gears. Take on this challenge after Deka Gears are unlocked in the Sparkle Floating Island story.

Send Electricity to the Tower with Power Kits and Utility Poles

To deliver electricity, use Power Kits and Utility Poles to send power to the Recruitment Challenge Tower. You can achieve this by purchasing Power Kits from the shop, placing Hydroelectric Power near a nearby body of water, and Wind Power near the tower, then connecting them with Utility Poles. As long as you can send electricity, the location and choice of kits are up to you.

If Hydroelectric Power is difficult, you can install more Wind Power

If setting up Hydroelectric Power is difficult, another option is to install as many Wind Power units as needed. While it costs more, it requires less planning and you don't need to prepare a body of water.

Collecting Crystal Fragments at Rocky Ridges

Crystal Fragments can be obtained by breaking crystals inside the cave in Rocky Ridges Town. The crystals are located in a room reached by going deep into the cave where you spoke with Magmar and breaking through the iron bars. You can collect the required amount by breaking the surrounding crystals with Rock Smash.

Give Iron Ingots to Master Tinkaton

Tinkagear can be crafted by giving Iron Ingots to Master Tinkaton. Since Tinkagear is used to create lifts and elevators, it is recommended to exchange for extra in advance if you plan on building them in the future.

Deliver Items to the Box to Clear

Connect the electricity and deliver the required number of Crystal Shards and Tinka-Gears to clear the stage. You can obtain a Pink Badge as a reward.

Part 6 Walkthrough

In Recruitment Challenge Part 6, you are required to provide 4 Industrial Beds, 4 Resort Lights, and 4 Office Desks. Pick up the recipes for each item, craft the required number, and then deliver them.

Obtain the Bed Recipe at Rocky Ridges and Craft It

The recipe for the "Industrial Bed" can be obtained in the town of Rocky Ridges. It is located in the plaza in front of the broken Pokemon Center. Once you get the recipe, gather the materials and craft 4 of them.

Obtain the Light Recipe at Gloomy Beach and Craft It

You can obtain the recipe for the "Resort Light" at Meowth's Den on Gloomy Beach. Once you have the recipe, collect the materials and craft four of them.

Obtain and Craft the Desk Recipe on Sparkle Floating Island

The recipe for the "Office Desk" can be found in front of the broken Pokemon Center on Sparkle Floating Island. Once you obtain the recipe, collect a total of 8 Pokemetal materials and craft it.

Obtain Pokemetal in the Underground Cave East of Sparkle Floating Island

Pokemetal can be obtained in large quantities in the underground cave of the house located on the east side of Sparkle Floating Island's town. You can reach the underground cave smoothly by heading to the eastern island and talking to Gardevoir to accept their request.

To Meowth's Den at Gloomy Beach

Once you have crafted the necessary materials, deliver them to clear the quest. You can obtain a Gold Badge as a reward.

Part 7 Walkthrough

Recruitment Challenge Part 7 requires Washing Machine ×1, Refrigerator ×1, and Game Boy ×1. These are rewards for reaching Environment Level 5 in "Gloomy Beach," "Rocky Ridges," and "Sparkling Skylands," respectively.

Raise the Environment Level of the 3 Towns to 5 (In Any Order)

Raise the Environment Level of "Rocky Ridges," "Gloomy Beach," and "Sparkling Skylands" to 5. You can raise it efficiently by picking up sparkling items on the islands to create new habitats and increasing the number of undiscovered Pokemon. Additionally, it doesn't matter which town you start with when raising the Environment Level.

Deliver to the Box to Clear

Once you have obtained the three types of items, deliver them to the box in the tower to clear the stage. You will receive a Crimson Badge as a reward.

Part 8 Walkthrough

In Recruitment Challenge Part 8, one photo is required. You can complete this by taking any photo you like in Photo Mode and submitting it.

Take a Photo in Photo Mode

In the 8th Recruitment Challenge, you will be asked for a "Favorite Photo." Any photo will do, but for future developments, we recommend taking a photo you won't regret.

Submit your favorite photo to clear

When you examine the box, the album will be displayed, so choose your favorite photo. Upon clearing, you will receive a Green Nana Badge as a reward.

Walkthrough to the Ending

For the delivery after clearing Recruitment Challenge Part 8, two Crackers are required. Crackers can be obtained by raising the Environment Level of the Withered Wastelands to 5.

Raise the Environment Level of Withered Wastelands to 5

By raising the Environment Level to 5 in the Withered Wastelands town, you can complete the Important Request "Raise the Environment Level even more!". Upon completion, you can obtain 2 Crackers used for delivery.

Deliver the Crackers to the Box

Examine the box and deliver the crackers. After delivering them, an event will occur, and the ending will play.

Clear by Watching the Ending

Once you finish watching the ending, the Important Wish and the main story will be cleared. Upon clearing, you will obtain the "Memories" photo frame and gain access to the underground space where the tower used to be.
