Pokopia Bubbly Basin DLC Guide: Unlock Route & Sea Temple

Bubbly Basin is the first paid town in the Pokemon Pokopia Expansion Pass. It is available now as Part 1 of the pass. Dive and underwater building are part of the free Ver. 2.0.0 game update; the town itself requires the Expansion Pass.

How to Unlock Dive and Reach Bubbly Basin

Start at the Pokemon Center in Bleak Beach. The in-game route is:

1. Speak to Tangrowth in front of the Bleak Beach Pokemon Center.
2. Travel to the island northwest of town and speak to Manaphy.
3. Collect 5 Seaweed from around Manaphy's island, then return to Manaphy.
4. Speak to Manaphy again to learn Dive.
5. Dive beside the island and pick up the Poke Ball Ornament underwater.
6. Return to Manaphy to finish its request.
7. Speak to Popplio in front of the Bleak Beach Pokemon Center.
8. Dive to the depression on the western seafloor of Bleak Beach and inspect the underwater gate.
9. Present your Pokedex at the gate while your Trainer Rank is Master to open the way to Bubbly Basin.

Bring a Ditto Flag before you enter. After building a base in Bubbly Basin, Home Navigator lets you return without repeatedly using the gate.

Treasure Maps and Hidden Rooms

Bubbly Basin has six hidden treasures, each rewarding a different Ball Ornament. Maps are found randomly with the Dowsing Machine. See the full entrances, cave route, and rewards in the Bubbly Basin Treasure Map Guide.

Watermelon and Smoothie Preparation

At Environment Level 2, the town shop unlocks Watermelon Seeds. Grow Watermelon, have a Cut Trees-specialty Pokemon process it into Cut Watermelon, then save it for Smoothies. Underwater fields need bubbles from a Water-specialty Pokemon or a powered Bubble Machine; see the Underwater Farming Guide for the full growing loop. Underwater Building and Smoothies

Use the Block Float and Underwater Building Guide for suspended underwater rooms, including the Environment Level 2 recipe and materials. The Smoothie Recipes Guide explains Mudkip's Mixer reward, Surf while Diving, and all six confirmed recipes.

First Bubbly Basin Objectives

Follow Popplio into town and speak to it in the center. A Human Record, Comfy Life Vol. 11, is on the entrance stairs.

Your next main objective is to raise Bubbly Basin to Environment Level 3. Build new habitats, improve residents' comfort, and complete their requests. Once the town reaches Level 3, speak to Popplio to start the important request to build the Sea Temple.

The Sea Temple asks for materials and specific Pokemon. The required Pokemon include Corphish, Corsola, Mareanie, Barboach, Totodile, and Frillish, with additional open slots. Talk to Popplio and check the construction screen for the current silhouettes and material list.

Useful Pokemon Unlock Notes

• Corphish: build the Sandy Seafloor Grassland habitat with 1 Sand Mound and 4 Seafloor Grass.
• Mareanie: build the Coral Swaying Flower Field habitat with 1 Colorful Coral and 4 Seafloor Flowers.
• Corsola: after befriending it through its coral habitat, complete its request by growing the southern-field watermelons and having Sharpedo cut them.
• Totodile: talk to it at the northern bridge, clear its games and hide-and-seek request, then bring Chinchou to repair its machine.

Known Pokemon in the DLC Town

DLC Mythical Pokemon: Manaphy and Phione

• Manaphy (D-050): You first meet Manaphy on Bleak Beach while learning Dive. It is registered after completing Bubbly Basin's important request, "Build a beautiful building!"
• Phione (D-049): It can appear at low probability in the underground area of the Bubbly Basin Dream Island. Use the Starmie Doll to reach that Dream Island.
