Build Your Town Freely
Unlike other areas, there is no story in the brand new town. Therefore, you can freely build and develop it to create your very own town. It's a great place to visit whenever you like, such as when you're stuck in the story or just want a change of pace.
Play with Others in Multiplayer
Blank Slate Town can be played solo, of course, but it is also possible to play with up to four players in multiplayer. Unlike multiplayer in other towns, all participants can freely place blocks and perform other actions, allowing for more authentic cooperative play.
Play with Switch 1 via Shared Controller Play
In Pokopia, Shared Controller Play with Switch 1 is only available in "Blank Slate Town." However, Shared Controller Play with Switch 1 is limited to local play. If you want to use Shared Controller Play online, the other player's console must also be a Switch 2.
Encounter Pokémon Exclusive to Blank Town
Some Pokémon only appear when you create a habitat in Blank Town. Check the Habitat Dex, and if you find a Pokémon with the area requirement "Blank Town," be sure to build a habitat for them.
Can Also Be Taken to Other Towns
Pokémon you meet in Blank Town can be taken to other towns by walking with them. Additionally, if you prepare a habitat or a house, you can also have them move there.
Become friends with the Eevee family
Eevee, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, Sylveon
In Pristine Town, you can become friends with Eevee and its evolutions, which cannot be encountered in the main story.

Big Storage Boxes can be purchased from the early stages
Once you raise the Environment Level of Massara Town to 2, you can purchase one "Big Storage Box" at the shop. It is very useful to have, as it can store about three times as many items as a regular Storage Box.
Obtain Construction Kits for Legendary Pokemon
Flare (Moltres) Power Plant (Zapdos) Twin (Articuno)
In Blank Slate Town, construction kits to make the three Legendary Birds—Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno—appear can be found at altars in various locations. Since they require many materials, it's best to attempt this after finishing the main story.
Materials Required for Legendary Pokemon to Appear
| Kit Location | Required Materials |
|---|---|
| Flare Altar (Moltres) | Copper Ingot , Gold Ingot , Magma Rock , Pokemetal |
| Power Plant (Zapdos) | Copper Ingot , Iron Ingot , Sea Glass Shard , Brick , Pokemetal |
Twin Ice House (Articuno) | Stone , Ice , Crystal Shard , Pokemetal |
How to Play Multiplayer in Blank Slate Town and Precautions
How to Play Multiplayer
Select "Play via Communication" from the PC, then select "Invite others to see your town"
Select "Play via Communication" from the PC. First, select "Play via Communication" at the bottom left of the PC in the Pokémon Center. Select "Invite others to see your town". Next, select "Invite others to see your town" and decide whether to use Internet communication or Local communication. A subscription to "Nintendo Switch Online" (paid) is required for Internet communication. Shared Play is only available on the PC in a Brand New Town. Multiplayer using Shared Play can only be done in a Brand New Town. If you select up to "Invite others to see your town" from the PC in the Pokémon Center of a Brand New Town, there will be a "Shared Play" option.
Only the Host Can Encounter New Pokemon
In multiplayer mode in the Blank Slate Town, there is a restriction where only the host can encounter Pokemon. While tall grass may shake on the guests' screens, only the host can investigate the grass.
Pokedex Progress is Only Saved for the Host
Pokedex registration status for habitats created in the Blank Slate Town and Pokemon that have become allies is only saved for the host. Guests will have the Pokedex entries registered only during that multiplayer session, but the data will not be carried over after the session ends.
Guests Cannot Take Back Obtained Items
When multiplayer ends, items obtained by guests are sent to the collection box in front of the Poke Center, so you cannot bring items back to your own town if you participate as a guest. The host can bring both the items in the collection box and the items they picked up themselves back to the town.
Can You Change the Name of Blank Town?
You Can Change the Town Name Freely
In Pokopia, immediately after arriving at a brand new town, players can name the town whatever they like. Since the town name you decide here can be changed later via the PC, feel free to name it whatever you want.
How to Get to Massara Town
Accessible After Learning Rock Smash
① Break the wall with Rock Smash ② After breaking the wall
You will be able to reach Massara Town in Pokopia after learning Rock Smash. Break the wall located west of the Pokémon Center in Dusty Desert, then head southwest to enter Massara Town via the bridge.
Connect Blocks to Reach the Bridge
The bridge leading to Massara Town is broken midway, so you must either travel through the sea or connect blocks yourself to cross. While you can simply swim through the sea to get there, Pokémon won't be able to cross when you bring them back from Massara Town later, so it's best to connect the bridge beforehand.
It's safe to proceed even if you ignore the warning
If your story progress is before clearing the second area, a warning will be displayed when you try to head to Blank Slate Town. Since no irreversible consequences will occur regardless of your choice, it is perfectly fine to proceed to Blank Slate Town.
Efficient Way to Progress in Blank Slate Town
Play after progressing through the main story
The most efficient way to progress through Pokopia's Blank Slate Town is to do so after advancing the main story and learning moves and recipes. While you can access Blank Slate Town from the very beginning, it's best to wait until you can collect the materials needed for Special Challenges and Legendary Pokemon constructions.
Building a Town with Multiple Players in Multiplayer
Since you can craft in a brand new town via multiplayer, playing with friends or other players allows you to progress more efficiently. Simply having more hands to help with tasks like building and crafting will allow you to build your town smoothly.
