How to Get Ice in Pokémon Pokopia

Ice is one of the harder materials to find in Pokopia because it only appears in two specific locations. It is also one of the most important — you need 50 Ice to build the Freezing Chambers, the construction required to unlock Articuno. Do not spend Ice on decoration until you have secured enough for the build.

Location 1: Palette Town Secret Cave (Best Source)

This is by far the most efficient Ice farming spot in the game.

How to reach it:

1. Head to Palette Town (accessible via the road through Withered Wastelands)
2. Find the waterfall on the eastern side of the area
3. Move to the right side of the waterfall and look for a Glow Mushroom
4. Walk toward it — you will enter a hidden passage
5. Follow the path inside to reach a large chamber filled with Ice blocks and Crystal Shards

This room respawns its resources, making it the go-to farming spot whenever you need to restock Ice.

Location 2: Rock Peak Dream Island (Secondary Source)

A smaller but reliable supplement if you are already farming Dream Islands.

Requirements:

• Access to Drifloon's Dream Island system
• Clefairy Doll (required to unlock Rock Peak Dream Island)

Once on Rock Peak Dream Island, find the rocky structure at the center of the island. Ice blocks are located inside. The yield is smaller than the Palette Town cave, but it is worth picking up if you are running the island for other resources.

What Ice Is Used For

Freezing Chambers (Articuno Habitat)

The primary use for Ice is building the Freezing Chambers — the large construction kit that causes Articuno to appear. This is a required step for full Pokédex completion.

After Building

Once the Freezing Chambers is complete, Articuno appears inside. It prefers a Cool environment, so place cool-type furniture nearby to raise its comfort level.

1. Do the Palette Town cave first — it gives you 50 Ice in a single run, which is exactly what you need for the Freezing Chambers
2. Pick up Crystal Shards at the same time — the secret cave contains both Ice and Crystal Shards, letting you farm two Freezing Chambers materials in one trip
3. Save Ice before decorating — Ice can be used for decoration, but secure your 50 for the build first
4. Rock Peak Dream Island is a bonus stop, not a primary route — use it when you are already there for other items like Seashells or Twine
