How to Get Red Crystal Fragments in Pokopia
Learn how to get Red Crystal Fragments in Pokopia. Best Dream Island cave routes and the 20/64 fragment targets for Sableye's event shop.
Author: Pokopia Guide Team
Red Crystal Fragments are the event currency for the Sableye event. They are not the same material as the normal Crystal Fragments from Rocky Ridges. If your real goal is to clear Sableye's shop or build its habitat quickly, the efficient plan is to run the right Dream Island caves and leave once you hit your target.
Fast Answer
The fastest way to get Red Crystal Fragments is to:
- talk to Drifloon and go to a Dream Island
- enter the island's cave system
- use Rock Smash on Red Crystal Clusters
- prioritize cave-heavy islands such as the Clefairy Doll and Arcanine Doll routes
- clear deeper cave rooms before leaving
Each Red Crystal Cluster drops around 4 fragments, and a solid run usually gives around 60-70 fragments.
What Red Crystal Fragments Are For
Red Crystal Fragments are spent in Sableye's event shop at the Pokémon Center.
The two most important thresholds are:
- 20 fragments to buy the three items for the Treasure-Hunting Set habitat
- 64 fragments to buy one of every shop item
If you only want to unlock Sableye's habitat, stop at 20. If you want the full shop furniture set before the event ends, plan around 64.
What You Need Before Farming
Before doing proper Red Crystal Fragment runs, make sure you have:
- the Sableye event active
- a rebuilt Pokémon Center
- access to Dream Islands
- a Pokémon that can use Rock Smash
- at least one doll for Dream Island travel
Without Rock Smash, the cave trip is not a real farm. You can reach the crystal rooms, but you will not convert the route into event currency.
Best Way to Farm Red Crystal Fragments
Step 1: Choose a cave-heavy Dream Island
The most reliable routes currently are:
- Clefairy Doll -> Rock Peak Dream Island
- Arcanine Doll -> Volcanic Dream Island
Both are good because the caves are easy to push deeper into and usually contain enough Red Crystal Clusters to justify the trip.
Step 2: Go deeper than the first cave room
Do not stop at the entrance. The value comes from chaining multiple cave rooms together, not from breaking the first cluster you see.
Step 3: Break every Red Crystal Cluster
Use Rock Smash on every visible cluster. Each one drops about 4 Red Crystal Fragments, so full clearing matters much more than rushing in and out.
Step 4: Leave when you hit your target
This farm is much less annoying if you run it toward a number:
- stop at 20 if you only want the habitat items
- stop at 64 if you want one of everything
- go higher only if you want duplicates before the event ends
Best Red Crystal Fragment Targets
Minimum target: 20 fragments
This is the cheapest functional goal because it buys:
- Adventure Kit - 10
- Map and Compass - 5
- Treasure - 5
Those three items unlock the Treasure-Hunting Set habitat for Sableye.
Full shop target: 64 fragments
If you want every item in the shop once, you need 64 total fragments.
That is usually about one strong cave run, which makes Red Crystal Fragments much easier to finish than they first look.
Can You Still Access the Event Later?
Yes, through a system clock workaround.
Change your Nintendo Switch 2 system clock to a date between April 29, 2026 and May 14, 2026 to reopen the event offline.
Common Mistakes
- Confusing Red Crystal Fragments with normal Crystal Fragments
- Entering a Dream Island without Rock Smash
- Leaving after the first cave room instead of clearing deeper sections
- Farming without a target number and wasting extra trips
- Forgetting to buy extras before the event disappears
Quick Tips
- Clefairy Doll and Arcanine Doll are the best starting routes.
- Treat 20 and 64 as your two main targets.
- Full cave clears beat short surface checks every time.
- Use movement speed buffs like Rollout or Hamburger Steak if you want smoother runs.
- Buy any extras before the event ends if you want duplicate furniture.
