Pokopia Environment Level Guide: How to Max It
How to raise Environment Level 1–10 in Pokémon Pokopia. Boost Comfy Levels, unlock shop items, rebuild kits & challenges. Per-town Level 5 rewards included.
Author: Pokopia Guide Team
The Environment Level is Pokémon Pokopia's core progression system. Each town has its own Environment Level (1–10) that measures how livable the area is for Pokémon. Raising it unlocks new shop items, challenges, Pokémon Center rebuild kits, and story progression. This guide covers everything you need to know.
What Is Environment Level?
Environment Level is a per-town rating that reflects the overall happiness of all Pokémon living in that area. It's determined by the combined Comfort Level (Comfy Level) of every Pokémon friend in the town.
- Each town starts at Level 1 and can reach Level 10 (Max)
- Levels are independent per town — raising one town doesn't affect others
- Check your level at the PC outside the Pokémon Center or via "Detailed Environment Level Info" inside
How to Raise Environment Level
1. Befriend More Pokémon
The most fundamental method. Build habitats to attract new Pokémon, and befriend them once they appear. More Pokémon friends = higher total comfort = higher Environment Level.
- Aim for 30–40 Pokémon per town for efficient leveling — browse all available Pokémon in our Pokédex
- Look for glowing sparkles on the ground — these are Pokémon Traces that reveal habitat recipes
- You can build duplicate habitats to attract additional Pokémon
2. Improve Pokémon Comfort Levels
Each Pokémon has an individual Comfort Level (すみごこち / Comfy Level) with six tiers:
| Tier | Rating |
|---|---|
| ★★★★★ | Awesome |
| ★★★★ | Great |
| ★★★ | Nice |
| ★★ | Average |
| ★ | Iffy |
| — | No Home |
A Pokémon without a home has a Comfort Level of No Home (effectively 0). To raise comfort:
- Place furniture near their habitat (relaxation, toy, and decoration types) — check available crafting recipes and items
- Offer food they enjoy until satisfied — see our Cooking Guide for recipes
- Adjust the environment to match preferences (warm/cool, humid/dry, bright/dark)
- Build a house for them as a habitat upgrade
- Complete daily requests — talk to a Pokémon and ask "How's your comfort?" once per day
3. Complete Pokémon Requests
Pokémon with pending requests show icons above their heads. Fulfilling requests directly raises their Comfort Level. Requests reset daily, so check back every day.
4. Build Paths to the Pokémon Center
Pokémon visit the Pokémon Center for socialization. Creating clear paths from habitats to the Center improves their comfort. Fix holes in roads and install stairs where there are height differences.
5. Restore the Environment
General environmental restoration also counts:
- Water dead grass, flowers, and trees to revive them
- Remove misplaced terrain blocks
- Plant greenery to improve the landscape
6. Befriend Legendary & Mythical Pokémon
Legendary and Mythical Pokémon have a greater impact on Environment Level than regular Pokémon. Prioritize improving their comfort for maximum efficiency.
What Each Level Unlocks
As your Environment Level increases, new content becomes available:
| Level | Unlocks |
|---|---|
| 2 | Shop & communication features; new purchasable items |
| 3 | Pokémon Center Rebuild Kit available in shop |
| 5 | Special item rewards; story progression milestones |
| 5+ | New challenges in PokéLife PC with increasing difficulty |
| 10 | All shop items unlocked; Pokémon Center design kits; recipe rewards |
Story Progression
To reach the game's end credits, you must achieve Environment Level 5 in four specific areas:
- Withered Wastelands (パサパサこうや)
- Bleak Beach (ドンヨリうみべ)
- Rocky Ridges (ゴツゴツやま)
- Sparkling Skylands (キラキラうきしま)
Town-Specific Level 5 Rewards
| Town | Reward | Used For |
|---|---|---|
| Withered Wastelands | Cracker ×2 | Union Challenge EX |
| Rocky Ridges | Refrigerator | Union Challenge #7 |
| Bleak Beach | Washing Machine | Union Challenge #7 |
| Sparkling Skylands | Game Boy | Union Challenge #7 |
What Lowers Environment Level
Be careful — certain actions can reduce your Environment Level:
- Moving Pokémon to a different town removes their comfort contribution (higher comfort Pokémon cause bigger drops)
- Broken furniture left unrepaired decreases comfort
- Fire-based objects (torches, campfires) go out during rain — place roofs over them for protection
- Removing Pokémon from an area reduces the overall score, potentially locking previously unlocked content
Efficiency Tips
- Group habitats together near the Pokémon Center to maximize furniture efficiency — one piece of furniture can benefit multiple Pokémon
- Rebuild the Pokémon Center at Level 3 — the rebuilt center attracts more Pokémon activity
- Check Pokémon comfort daily — the "How's your comfort?" dialogue reveals exactly what each Pokémon needs
- Focus on Legendary/Mythical Pokémon first — they contribute more to Environment Level per comfort point
- Don't neglect road maintenance — clear paths are an easy comfort boost that benefits all Pokémon in the area
- Protect fire objects from rain — build roofs or shelters to prevent comfort drops during rainy weather
