Pokopia Buying Guide: Price & Physical Copy

Pokémon Pokopia released on March 5, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2. This page now covers buying the released game. Retailer pre-order gifts are no longer treated as current offers.

What releases on October 29?

The October 29, 2026 release at selected retailers in Malaysia covers two packaged products. It is a retail-format date, not confirmation that Expansion Pass Part 2 unlocks that day. Check availability in your own region.

Expansion Pass package	A download code for the paid DLC. No game card; the base game is required separately.
Pokopia + Expansion Pass package	The base game and paid DLC. The physical game uses a game-key card and needs a download.

If you already own the game and Expansion Pass, you do not need to buy them again for future parts included in that pass. Buying a package does not bypass the release schedule.

For the packaged game-and-pass set, plan an internet connection and at least 10 GB of free storage; updates can need more. A DLC-code-only box does not include the base game or a console.

Physical Copy or Digital?

The physical edition uses a game-key card. It requires an initial full-game download over the internet, free storage, and the card inserted during download and every time you play. The game data is not all stored on the card. A microSD Express card may be needed if internal storage is insufficient.

A digital purchase downloads the game without a physical card. Check the current storage requirement on the official store or your console: patches and DLC can change it.

Early Purchase Bonus

Nintendo lists the in-game Ditto rug for eligible game-key card and digital copies, claimable through Mystery Gift by January 31, 2027. Claiming it requires an internet connection and a linked Nintendo Account, but not a Nintendo Switch Online subscription. Check the official conditions rather than assuming an old retailer gift is still in stock.

Before You Pay

• Check that you own a Switch 2. Original Switch consoles cannot run their own copy; GameShare access is limited.
• Check whether the listing includes the base game, DLC, or a console.
• For physical copies, plan the initial download and storage.
• For multiplayer, check the console, copy and membership requirements.
